Now for some questions and answers:

Q. When did Richard & Karen sign with Herb Alpert?
A. April 22, 1969 at 11:32 a.m.
Q. Is it true that they are quitting show biz?
A. NO WAY! They enjoy what they are doing, and are not ready to retire.
Q. Does Karen like to wear hats?
A. She is not a 'hat nut' but enjoys wearing one occasionally.
Q. Are Richard & Karen interested in the Olympics?
A. Yes. When they are not at home when the Olympics are staged, they have Mom & Dad video-tape the programs, so they can watch them later.
Q. Why didn't Karen play the drums on the album A Kind Of Hush?
A. Richard wanted to try some different sounds from stronger drummers.
Q. Did Richard & Karen enjoy starring their own TV special?
A. YES. It was a new and very thrilling experience to do their own Special. They enjoyed working with John Denver & Victor Borge. Two very likable and fun-loving people. They had an excellent production crew who were a joy to be around. Between shots, Victor kept them laughing. He can ad lib comedy faster than writers can put it on paper. They feel fortunate in having acquired many great new friends through the show.
Q. Was Karen singing before she started taking voice lessons?
A. The only voice study Karen had, was being part of Long Beach State Acapella Choir.
Q. What is Karen's voice range?
A. D below middle C to C above high C.
Q. Does Richard ever write the lyrics for songs?
A. Yes, though he hasn't done so for some time. He leaves the lyrics to John Bettis now, who has more time to concentrate on them.
Q. Has Karen ever written a song?
A. No. She leaves the song writing to Richard.
Q. When they fly, is it by tourist or first class?
A. First class.
Q. How many people work on issuing the newsletter?
A. Richard & Karen supply most of the information (along with Mom & Dad) Ev usually types it. Rosina & Patty supply the printer with names of all new members, change of addresses, deletions etc. as well as getting it to the printer. From there it goes to a mailing business where they are folded, placed in an envelope which has been addressed, sealed and delivered to the post office.

In the past, I have thanked and complimented all the fans for the artistic creations they have sent to Richard & Karen in the past. I would like to renew my thanks for your continued interest and loyal support to them, their parents. and to the fan club staff.

We all appreciate your nice letters, and are delighted you care enough to write. We welcome your suggestions and criticisms - both constructive and non-constructive; it helps in making decisions, so keep your letters coming in, and many thanks. Rap later. EV.
